Dimitra Karakioulaki

Dimitra Karakioulaki comes from Greece and is an LL.M. candidate at Columbia Law School. She has completed her undergraduate law studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Ruprecht Karls University of Heidelberg (Erasmus student). She holds an LL.M. degree in Business law, with a specialization in Competition and Industrial Property Law, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she studied as a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung scholar.

Dimitra is currently serving as a Policy Fellow at Accountability Counsel and has previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Human Rights Institute of Columbia Law School and as a Research intern at the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence of the University of Macedonia. In addition, she worked as a trainee lawyer in a law firm in Greece and as an intern at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dimitra has represented Greece at the European Youth Parliament and at negotiation and mediation competitions in Tokyo, Dubai and Singapore, where her team won four medals.

She is passionate about international law and human rights and speaks Greek, English, German and French.
